Drafts just got a new version with WordPress integration, so I'm testing that. This feature finally clears out short status updates like this from my Ulysses library.

This also occurred to me a couple of months ago when I searched a better alternative for Day One. This blog which runs on WordPress looked great for a private journal, but I didn't find anything that would migrate my entries from Day One, so I created a script for myself. I've open sourced it on GitHub so anybody with a little bit a terminal knowledge should be able to use it.

Before you ask: I still use Day One with encryption turned on. When I reasearched the topic of private posts using WordPress I found a couple of security concerns which I've also shared on Colin's blog. But after last week's Day One security fiasco, maybe it's something that I should reconsider.

According to GDPR, from May 25th I can't talk to myself alone without agreeing my privacy policy first.

I like to read about the technical details of service outages since we can learn a lot from others' mistakes. But I still think Day One was better when they had iCloud sync. As far as I know, accidentally journal sharing wouldn't have happened with CloudKit.

Testing Icro:

• It feels better than the official Micro.blog app.
• Notifications would be nice.
• The iPad app needs a lot of work.
• No Markdown parsing feels weird.

It's okay for 1.0, but I'm keeping the official one installed since I don't keep up with my timeline but (silent) notifications are nice to have.

Things already got a great URL scheme which can be used for automation. On the Mac, we can take automation to the next level with things.sh which is a Terminal interface for reading (and writing) Things’ database. Really awesome for somebody like me, who spends his day in vim and tmux.

I really like BazQux Reader lately. It can add even userfeeds from Twitter—which is really hard to do since Twitter removed RSS—so I’ve made a workflow which helps me subscribe to accounts from Twitter or Micro.blog. This way, I can follow everything in one app.

I'm just thinking about why iCloud Keychain still doesn't support generating two-factor authentication codes as 1Password does? This is exactly what Apple should design as user friendly as it can.

The great thing about blogging is that I can grab my iPad and start rambling about a topic which then turns into an idea I want to do. So, I publish the raw post (sometimes privately) and then send its link to my inbox to review later.

I just love to do this!

Wow, I've just realized that I can post stuff from Micro.blog's iOS client to my blog.

It took about 2 years with big changes in my diet, but I’m finally down from 107 kilos to 89.8! It’s still not my desired goal of 80, but it’s a big milestone.

Somehow I always get bored with almost every project after working on it for a couple of days. I need one or two days of slacking just to get my initial motivation back.

Am I alone with this?

I'm testing the new beta of Drafts 5. Man I love this app.

I did the obvious thing: there is a big Subscribe button in the header with the classic RSS glyph. Some people know what to do with it, well, others don't. It's still better than writing manuals about how to subscribe to RSS.

I'm not sure how we could solve this, but I remember it was a problem with indie blogs back in 2007 as well.
